Rental of binoculars and other materials for the enjoyment of the Delta del Ebre natural reserve: rental of binoculars for the discovery of the flora and fauna of the delta.
There are several bird observatories. The best time of the year to do birdwatching is in autumn; however, the delta is host to a great variety of birds all year round. The entire 32,000 ha of the delta are part of the special protection area for birds, (ZEPA, Zona de Especial Protección para las Aves), and attract millions of birds each year. This means that birdwatching is worthwhile at any time of the year. During the summer, the most outstanding activity is the breeding of birds and the rearing of their offspring.
The delta is home to a colony of flamingos and the most important colony in the world of Andouin’s gull. During the winter months, the delta is partly dominated by a new set of birds, although many of the summer species remain in the territory. Apart from being a place of residence for several species, the Delta del Ebre is also a place for migratory birds to stop.
During the spring and summer months, the reedbeds of la Encanyissada and la Noria are home to the largest breeding colonies of herons in the whole of the delta (little egret, cattle egret, night heron, purple heron, etc.).
