Traditional tourism
For over a hundred years now, in the Ebro Delta, there are a series of traditions that are going from parents to children, so in this section, we offer activities, workshops and parties, these.
PUNTING BOATS:
The punting boats activity is probably one of those that the visitors love the most, due to it allow you to feel like our ancestors, which they used these boats to navigate by the shallow waters of Delta. You can take the punt by the "Lo Mas de la Cuixota" canals, driving it yourself, enjoying the flora and fauna of Delta.
AGRICULTURAL EXPERIENCE:
Rice and everything that involves the cultivation of this cereal is definitely the most valuable legacy that has been left to us.
This activity, composed for a first theoretical part, and followed by another one practical, will allow to the visitor to understand all the hard work there are behind this incredible cereal.
Probably we are talking about the most experimental activity that someone can do in the Delta, get into a paddy, feel the water, the ground, the nature, just unique.
TRADITIONAL FESTIVITIES:
Jose Luis Garcia, owner of l’Estany la Casa de Fusta restaurant and the Lo Mas de la Cuixota, has had an extreme important role to the preservation of the traditions of the Delta. That’s why the last 20 years, he has been celebrating in Lo Mas de la Cuixota the “Festa de la Plantada” (planting festival), and the “Festa de la Cega” (harvest festival), where you can see how our ancestors worked all with their own hands, and just with the help of horses.
All of this, enlivened by the deltaic as jotas of the local singers. It is a party for all kinds of public and open to everyone.
FISHING ART WORKSHOPS:
Discover the noble art of the traditional fishing of the Delta and know the different utensils used by our ancestors and the indigenous fish species of the Delta lagoons.
Approximate duration of 1h 30min, includes monitor to do the demonstrations and utensils to do the activity.
