Rice harvest festival

The Mas de la Cuixota of Restaurant l’Estany Casa de Fusta hosts one of the most traditional and beloved celebrations of the Ebro Delta for another year. The Harvest Festival is a day to relive the old jobs of the rice fields and pay tribute to all those people who, with effort and dedication, worked the land and harvested the rice manually.

This festival allows you to discover how the harvest, the final phase of rice cultivation, was carried out in the past, when the reapers harvested the grain by hand using traditional tools and techniques that are now part of the memory of the Delta. A cultural and family experience that combines tradition, music, gastronomy and popular activities in a unique environment.

10:00 a.m. – Start of the party

Presentation by the journalist from Amposta Manel Ramon

• Tribute to Josep Parrot, defender of the territory and great radio enthusiast
• Traditional demonstration of batut a potes
• Performances by the xarangues “Suc d’Anguila” and “Guardet Lo Cantador”
• Jotes dance with the women of Deltebre
• Drunk coc tasting for attendees
• Crafts meeting of Terres de l’Ebre and the Maestrat
• Carriage rides

Starting at 12:30 pm

• Theatrical show with the group “Mercat de 21 botons”
• Entertainment and festive atmosphere
• With the collaboration of the Association of Friends of the Horses of Amposta and La Ràpita
